About ACOA: Alaska Campground Owners Association

Supporting Alaska’s Campgrounds & Outdoor Tourism Since 1990

The Alaska Campground Owners Association (ACOA) is a nonprofit, member-driven organization devoted to promoting and protecting Alaska’s outdoor hospitality industry. Since 1990, we’ve helped travelers discover unforgettable camping adventures while championing the businesses, parks, and people that make Alaska’s wild places welcoming.

What We Do
      •     Promote our member parks and partners to travelers nationwide and internationally
      •     Boost visibility through print and digital guides, social media, and public outreach
      •     Advocate for smart, campground-friendly tourism policies at the state and local levels
      •     Build connections through educational workshops and our annual convention
      •     Inspire confident, responsible camping across Alaska’s public and private lands

Who We Represent

Our members include:
      •     Privately owned RV parks and campgrounds

We proudly serve both full campground members and associate businesses who help fuel outdoor travel in the Last Frontier.

Why It Matters

ACOA’s collective marketing, education, and advocacy work keeps Alaska’s campgrounds open, visible, and thriving. Together, we sustain small businesses, grow tourism responsibly, and ensure that the magic of Alaska remains accessible for future generations.

      •     Hospitality – We welcome all travelers with warmth, safety, and authentic Alaskan experiences.
      •     Community –We foster meaningful connections between parks, partners, and travelers across the state.

Our Impact
      •     60+ member parks and tourism partners statewide
      •     Official Alaska Campground Guide distributed at over 40 RV parks, 20+ visitor centers, and national RV shows
      •     Advocacy that watches legislative regulations and opens new marketing opportunities for members
